PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the loss of a hydrophilic property even by heating after a wet combing process by continuously passing unprocessed polyolefine fiber between parallel electrodes arranged in an atmosphere controlled under a prescribed plasma irradiating condition. SOLUTION: Unprocessed polyolefine fiber 1 is housed in an upper bucket 3, and for example, it continuously and freely falls a fixed quantity by a fixed quantity in a clearance between vertical parallel electrodes 2 by imparting mechanical vibration to the upper bucket 3, and accumulates in a lower bucket 4. An oxygen gas atmosphere of a degree of vacuum of 1 to 10 Torr is proper as a plasma atmosphere, but oxygen gas of a quantity necessary to hold this atmosphere is properly replenished by a gas supply part 8. An optimal oxygen gas atmosphere condition is set according to an intitial condition of the unprocessed polyolefine fiber. Necessary electric power is supplied from a high frequency power source part 7. The unprocessed polyolefine fiber receives electric discharge plasam processing when falling inside the vertical parallel electrodes by such an electric vacuum condition. |
