PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to find out best equalization for an input electric signal distorted resulting from polarization mode dispersion PMD and to provide the enhanced electric equalization installation to execute this method especially. SOLUTION: The electric equalization installation for an input electric signal (S) obtained from an optical signal (L) sent through an optical fiber and distorted resulting from interference of the optical signal (L), e.g. polarization mode dispersion PMD is provided with a plurality (n>1) of different variable electronic equalizers (E1 ,..., Ei ,..., En ) connected in parallel that receive the input electric signal (S) and with a controller (3) that selects any of output electric signals (Si ) of the respective electronic equalizers (Ei ) conducting best equalization and controls a set of equalization parameters (Ei ,1 ,...Ei ,m ) of the electronic equalizers conducting best equalization in a way that the quality (Q) of the equalized output signals (Si ) is optimized. Thus, the equalizer operated satisfactorily at present is selected. |
