PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer in which ions are generated stably by using an ion source used to form very small liquid drops and by which a sample can be analyzed with high sensitivity and with good reproducibility by a method wherein a gas is ejected by a gas-flow formation means to the tip outer circumferential part of a capillary into which a sample solution is introduced and the sample solution is ionized. SOLUTION: A sample solution is introduced, from a sample-solution supply part, into a capillary 5 at a flow rate of 100 μl/min. Since the capillary 5 is weak in terms of strength, it is held and fixed by a capillary holding tube 6, and about 4 mm of its tip part is exposed from the capillary holding tube 6. On the other hand, a gas which is introduced from a gas supply part is introduced into an ion source while its flow rate is being regulated, it is made to flow along the outer circumferential part of the capillary 5, and it is ejected to the air from the tip of the capillary 5 at a gas speed of about 200 m/sec or higher. The sample solution generates gaseous psedo molecular ions by sample molecules in addition to very small liquid drops by the ejected gas. The generated ions are introduced into a mass spectrometer by using a gas so as to be analyzed. |
