At each main support (5,9), the tensioned strap binding the cable group is suspended by a pig-tail hook, at a fixed height, from a bracket mounted on a vertical standard, these supports being formed from steel channel sections. Additional support is provided at the centre of each such main span (1) by a similar binding (7), attached to a standard at a lower level (2), but the suspension hooks at these positions have some freedom of vertical movement on the support bracket. The binding straps are passed round the cable bundle, and through a buckle on the hook, a number of times, depending on the loading, and tensioned to a set value by a come-along clamp incorporating a dynamometer. Additional bindings, similar in kind but without suspension attachments, are applied at the centres of the half-spans (6,8).
