PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the heat generated in a drive circuit for driving an electromagnetic inductive load, such as a motor, a solenoid, etc. SOLUTION: Switch circuits 13 and 14 are respectively connected in series with a positive side and a negative side of an electromagnetic inductive load 12. The positive terminal of the load 12 is connected to a negative power line through a diode 15 having opposite polarities and the negative terminal of the load 12 is connected to a positive power line through another diode 16 of the opposite polarity. The turn-on/off of the two switch circuits 13 and 14 are simultaneously controlled by means of a switch control circuit. The self-induced electromotive force which is induced in the load 12, when the circuits 13 and 14 are turned off is fed back to a DC power source 11 through an electric power feed-back circuit passing through the diode 16, power source 11, diode 15, and load 12. Therefore, the service life of a battery which supplies electric power to the load 12 is prolonged, because the electromotive force induced in the load 12 can be recovered to the power source 11, and the heat generation by the conventional counterelectromotive force absorbing resistor is eliminated, and in addition, the power consumption in the load 12 is reduced. |
