PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proper emitted light quantity, in accordance with the distance between a camera and an object by intermittently emitting light with the opening/closing operations of an opening/closing means, after a light emitting means emits the light with an exciting signal. SOLUTION: A light emission signal is outputted from a control part for excitation voltage producing at the time t1 . In other words, when a discharge light emitting part starts to emit the light, the light emission signal becomes an H-level, to make a switch into a closed state. Thus, an excitation voltage is produced by an excitation voltage producing part, to be applied to the discharge light emitting part. When the discharge light emitting part intermittently emits the light at the time t2 , a switching control signal is outputted from a centralized control part and a switching control part outputs opening/closing signals for opening/closing a switching part. The switching part after the opening/closing signals are inputted is opened/closed like a pulse, to intermittently emit the light. When the opened state of the switching part is made long, the emitted light quantity becomes small to obtain dark light emission and when the opened state of the switching part is short, the emitted light quantity becomes large to obtain bright light emission. |
