<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a connection part of which a conductor center is not deviated and in which uneven wall thickness of the insulator is prevented for an electric power cable comprising a large size conductor by arranging a connection cable to be connected in the vertical direction and coating the cable with an insulator composition and molding and cross-linking the insulator composition by a vertical type extrusion die and a die for cross-linking. SOLUTION: A connection cable 10 to be connected, which is a naked conductor of an electric power cable, is arranged in vertical direction to make the load direction due to the self weight of the conductor and the cable arranging direction coincided with each other. In such a condition, the necked connection part of the connection cable 10 to be connected is set in a vertical type extrusion die 20 and the conductor connection part is coated with an insulator composition extruded by an extruder 30. After the coating of the insulator is formed and an external semiconductor layer tube is put on the insulator coating, the resultant connection cable 10 is set in a vertical type cross-linking die while the cable 10 being arranged in the vertical direction. After that, the insulator composition is heated and molded to be cross-linked, so that the connection part can be formed without deviating the conductor center regardless of the thermal expansion of the conductor and unevenly forming the insulator wall thickness.</p> |
