PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically switch the coding systems according to the state of a printer engine and to improve the print processing efficiency. SOLUTION: A coding part 301 codes the image data by a Pack Bits system of a high processing speed, and a coding part 302 codes the image data by a JBIG(Joint Bi-level Image Coding Expert Group) system of high coding efficiency. An engine monitoring part 205 monitors the state of a printer engine 140. A printer driver 203 dynamically switches both coding parts based on the state information on the engine 140 (engine information) that is informed from the part 205.
