PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a merchandise information reading device preventing the generation of erroneous transaction by accurately grasping the number of times of reading of the same commodity in one transaction. SOLUTION: When it is judged that the code information of a code symbol newly read by a reading means (a step S3) is the same as code information stored in a code information storing means by a judging means (a step S5) in one certain transaction, the number of times of reading corresponding to the code information is added by one by a number of times of reading adding means (a step S8), and the number of times of reading of the code symbol is announced by an announcing means (a step S9). Thus, when the code symbol having the same code information within a transaction unit is continuously read more than twice, the number of times of reading is announced so that the number of times of reading of the same merchandise can be accurately captured, and the generation of erroneous transaction can be prevented. |
