SIGNAL EDITER AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal editer and its method in which joint editing in the unit of frames is conducted with timewise minimum image quality deterioration. SOLUTION: A moving picture expert group(MPEG) encoder 21 compresses image data for each group of picture(GOP) consisting of, e.g. 15 frames. An MPEG decoder 31 expands compression image data read by a read means. The MPEG encoder 21 revises partly the image type of an area in the vicinity of a joint edit point on compression image data read from an optical disk 1a by the read means to establish the processing unit.
