PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace one memory module while continuing the operation of a mirrored cache system with minimum performance deterioration. SOLUTION: First, a write operation is stopped and next data are copied from a residual memory module to a substitute module so that it can be confirmed that a cache module is operable and that a controller is synchronous in order to stop writing data on a cache system which is not made backup on nonvolatile data storage by a step (52) which disables a mirroring write operation of the cache system, a step (56) which tests a substitute memory module for the cache system and a step (58) which restores mirrored data of the cache system. The stop of the write operation is released after confirmation, a mirroring write operation of the cache system is performed and a warm swap operation is carried out to replace a module of a mirrored cache system. |
