The luggage carrier (100) has one or more side sections (22) interconnected at one end by a connecting element (11), and provided with standing surface (23) at the other end. The standing surfaces are horizontally orientated and each point away from the other side section. The side sections are interconnected by a yoke (24). A side section is formed by two struts (20,21) and/or a plate, and are guided by the connecting element. Containers may be fitted on the side sections instead of standing surfaces.
