The holding device is for a form piece made of expansionable material. Two separately manufactured half shells (1) are securable to one another and in the secured state in an outer all-round edge area (5) form between them a gap open to the outer edge, which inwardly is limited by an inner contour (2) to one of the half shells. An expansionable form piece formed as a contour ring disc has a shape corresponding to the gap formed between the two half shells. On the inner surfaces of the half shells securing devices (3,4) are provided for connection of the two half shells. One of the securing devices has a mushroom shape which can be secured in an aperture in the inner wall of the hollow space to be sealed.
