The rear part of the boot sole (13), between heel and sole center, and the lower rear part of the boot shaft (12), are rigid. The remaining parts of sole (16) and shaft (11) are flexible. Rigid and flexible parts are of different materials. A gaiter-like shaft (3) for the lower leg is joint to the rigid part of the boot shaft. The rigid sole part has fasteners to act with a safety ski binding. The boot has an inner liner boot (2).
