A swash plate compressor adapted to compress a refrigerant, wherein a swash plate (3, 18) incorporated therein is formed by using an aluminum alloy as a base material, sliding surfaces (3a, 18a) of the swash plate (3, 18) which slidingly contact shoes (7; 7, 19; 19) which are inserted so as to operatively engage the swash plate (3, 18) with a piston (6, 17) being provided with a film of a solid lubricant of at least one kind of substance selected from molybdenum disulfide, tungsten disulfide and graphite which is formed by a transfer system, whereby a coating performance and the productivity of the compressor are improved.
