Registration procedure

Alongside a printed image register marks (PM) are printed on a sheet (1), fed in a set direction (2) by an optoelectronics sensor (3). Recorded by the sensor along a scanning line (4) parallel to a page edge (5). The register marks form two groups (6, 8); the first (6) on the page's leading edge (7), the second (8) on its back edge (9). The register marks correspond to specific colored inks, enabling mistakes to be identified.
