The composite is made out of at least one light metal component and at least one additional part located on it. The additional part is joined, or can be joined, to at least one steel component (3). The additional part and the light metal part are joined by pressure-welding and/or riveting. The additional part is located at least in sections in the edge region of the light metal part so that in the installation position of the composite of light metal part and additional part, it can be joined to the steel component. The additional part consists of, at least in regions, a ferrous material, especially steel. The region of the additional part consisting of ferrous material is located at least in the connecting region with the steel component.
