For cleaning, the empty wash container (1) is placed below the group (8) to be cleaned and the spray head (10) positioned between the rail (26) and the top end of the group and made fast after which the group of curtains (18) is ringed by a casing sleeve (17) reaching into the container (1). The container is filled with washing agent from the adjacent washing machine (11) and the agent pumped into the head (10) and over the strips being cleaned before being returned to the machine alongside (11). Fresh rinsing agent is then pumped over from machine (11) to container (1) and then over the strips before being run back into the attendant machine (11). The container has a strip group space (2), pump (3) and distributor (4) and agent heater (12) as well as switchable ultrasonic elements (15).
