<p>A method and apparatus comprising an automatic process, in which separate plate parts are joined allowing variety on production of rolled profile beams and which speeds up and facilitates the production of welded beams and makes it more cost efficient and enables a production of beams with very precise dimensions. The method and apparatus also enable a quick presetting and adjustment of the apparatus when the size and the profile of a beam are changed and enables to produce beams prestressed to counter an upcoming load. The apparatus operates automatically. Beam plate parts are transferred from a storage unit (1), through an unloading and cutting unit (2) to an assembly conveyor (3) and press rollers (4), where plate parts are placed in the form of a beam profile and from the assembly conveyor (3) to an assembly unit (5) where the separate plate parts are joined in a continuous process. A finished beam is transferred through conveyors (6 and 9) to an alignment unit (10) where the profile of a beam is inspected and calibrated. If the beam requires continued processing it returns through a turnover equipment (7) and an intermediary conveyor (8) again to the assembly unit (5) before being transferred to the alignment equipment (10). The intermediary conveyor (8) will not be needed when the apparatus includes more than one (two) assembly units (5).</p> |
