<p>In brake actuation according to the technological state of known drum brakes, especially dual power drum brakes, considerable fluctuations frequently occur during the braking effect. Said fluctuations are both traced back to manufacturing tolerances and strong fluctuating characteristic values of the drum brake by self-energizing effects. According to the invention, the lining support (2) of the brake shoe (1) is shaped in an elastic non-rigid manner with regard to axial bending in order to reduce such braking effect fluctuations and to homogenize the pressure behavior of the drum brake shoes (1) inside the brake drum. In addition, the lining support (2) comprised of a supporting band (4) and connecting element (5) is provided with a specifically designed constriction (6) in a peripheral direction in the midsection of the connecting element (5). A flexible drum brake shoe (1) is manufactured by means of such a reduction of the connecting element (5) material cross section. The homogeneous pressure behavior of said brake shoe enables a constant braking effect independent of the respective operational condition of the brake.</p> |
