<p>A valve (20) is inserted into a fractionation tray perforation (10). At least two legs (22) extend down from a cover plate (21) having a larger area than the perforation (10). Each of the legs (22) are positioned at or near the peripheral inner surface of the tray perforation (10). Each leg (22) has an outwardly projecting hooking element (23). As the valve (20) is inserted into the fractionation tray perforation (10) by applied pressure to the cover plate (21), the hooking elements (23) bend inward slightly to a smaller circumferential plane than that of the tray perforation (10). After insertion, the flexible legs (22) spring back to their original position. The tip of each hooking element (23) than contacts the bottom surface of the fractionation tray to define the limit of the upward motion of the valve (20). At least one downward projection (24) from the cover plate (21) defines and limits the downward motion of the valve (20) into the tray perforation (10).</p> |
