The die elements (1a, 1b) are pivotable individually or together about their carrier axes (5). These axes form an angle ( beta ) - which preferably is equal to a right angle - with the direction (V) in which the die elements are movable. Preferred Features: The carrier frame (6) or a part of it carrying the die (G) is inclinable and/or pivotable about an axis (11). This axis is either horizontal or is inclined to an acute angle to the horizontal. The pivot axis is formed by pivot bearings (13) and pivot journals (12). The pivot bearings are installed vertically adjustable (either individually or together) in vertical columns (14). At least one pivot journal is joined to a drive (15). The direction (V) is parallel to a die axis (16). The bearing blocks (7a, 7b) are provided with drives for pivoting the die elements (1a, 1b). The clamping unit (10) takes the form of a piston motor. Alternatively it takes the form of a motor drive rack and pinion mechanism. The machine also incorporates core pulling units. Two dies (G) with their axes (16) substantially perpendicular to one another are mounted on the carrier frame in a further variant of the machine. |
