The mandrel contains through-flow openings between wide and narrow dykes in the mandrel substrate supporting the circuit board electrical conductors, through which the galvanisation solution flows. A mandrel with openings separated by dykes, used for electroforming metal films, comprises a substrate with a circuit board arrangement of electrical conductors (8', 8'') on the film-forming side, the board being linked to a power supply via two or more connections. The substrate contains through-flow openings (5) between substrate support dykes (2) and substrate dykes (6) supporting the electrical conductors. The width of the substrate support dykes is greater than that of the substrate dykes. Independent claims are also included for (a) the preparation of the mandrel, and (b) the use of the mandrel for electroforming metal films in a flowing galvanisation bath.
