ELECTRODE MEMBER AND PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel electrode member in which the reactivity on gas- liq.-solid three phase interfaces is more improved and a method for electrolytically producing hydrogen peroxide with high efficiency using the electrode member. SOLUTION: This electrode member consists of a conductor having a three- dimensional reticular structure where the average diameter of openings is in the range of 1-30 μm and hydrophobic resin grains movably held in the reticular structure of the conductor and having 0.1-0.5 μm average diameter. As a method for producing hydrogen peroxide, while an oxygen-contg. gas and an electrolyte are supplied to a cathode made of the electrode member, the mixture is electrolyzed to produce an aq. soln. of the hydrogen peroxide.
