<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to set the centroid of a head at the rear side of the axial line of a shaft, to facilitate the hitting on the central axial line of the shaft, to increase a carry and to improve directivity by providing the clubface surface of a head with a planar heel intersecting perpendicularly with the entire height of the clubface surface. SOLUTION: The driver head 1' of a golf club has the shaft 2, the clubface 3, the heel 4', a tow 5 and a sole 6. The heel 4' is formed to the planar shape so as to intersect perpendicularly with the surface 3 of the clubface 3 over the entire surface of the clubface 3. The distances (t), t(from the center line (c) to the left end and right end of the sole 6 are set equal and the club is so formed that the central axial line (a) of the shaft 2 intersects with the line where the central line (c) intersects orthogonally with the sole 3 surface. At the time of hitting the ball, a golfer attempts to hit the ball in the central part of the clubface 3 in the position of the line where the central line (c) intersects orthogonally with the sole 3 surface, by which the increasing of the carry and the improvement of directivity are made possible.</p> |
