PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polymer having mechanical characteristics and processability at high levels and useful as a material for extrusion molding or the like by copolymerizing ethylene with anα-olefin in the presence of a specific catalyst. SOLUTION: This polymer is obtained by copolymerizing ethylene with a 3-20Cα-olefin in the presence of a carried geometric constraint type single site catalyst. The polymer has the following characteristics: (1) a density of 0.910-0.975 g/cm<3> , (2) a melt flow rate value of 0.0001-1000 g/10 min, (3) a Mw/Mn value of inequality I determined by the measurement of GPC, (4) a melt flow rate ratio of 16-35, (5) a relation of inequality II (Y is an elution amount per the whole integrated elution amount ranging from the maximum elution fractionation component amount temperature to an elution temperature lower by 10 deg.C than the maximum temperature), (6) a relation of equation III [Ti is an elution temperature; Mmax (Ti) is the maximum mol.wt. determined by the gel permeation chromatography measurement of an elution component in Ti; -0.5<=A<0; C is a constant number], (7) a relation of inequality IV (MT is melt tension).
