PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to well maintain the directivity of the case a hitting point deviates from the center of a clubface by forming the contour of the front surface of a head when a golfer diametrically faces the clubface surface in the state of setting the head by addressing to meet a lie angle and loft angle to a shape nearly approximate to a parallel quadrilateral shape which inclines to the heel side. SOLUTION: The shape of the front surface of the head when the head 1 is viewed from the front in the state of bringing the sole surface 2 into contact with the ground in a normal addressing posture of the golf head 1, i.e., by addressing to meet the lie angle and loft angle is so set as to be formed to a shape nearly approximate to a parallel quadrilateral shape which is segmented by virtual lines A-A, B-B, C-C, D-D and inclines to the heel 5 side. The straight line D-D along the side face 6 on the toe 4 side of the front surface of the head 1 is so set as to be confined within±30 deg. of the lie angle with respect to the ground contact surface. Further, the height H from the ground surface of a ridge line 8 formed by interlinkage of the sole face 2 curved upward of the head 1 and the side face 6 of the head 1 is set at a height of about 1/4 the height of the head 1.
|
