<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the overall length of a master cylinder for use in an automobile brake system. SOLUTION: A pin-like stem 17 adapted to move together with a piston that moves in the body of a master cylinder according to the driver's braking operation is designed to slide in an inner seat 24a that slides inside an outer seat 24b, both which seats constitute a double seat 24. This double seat 24 telescopes in accordance with the displacement of the stem 17 to absorb the displacement. This arrangement dispenses with a portion that is otherwise used for the formation of a concavity for receiving the head 17a of the stem 17 to thereby shorten the overall length of the master cylinder body.</p> |
