PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbone fiber ball and production method thereof that can provide a quantitative and stable supply to an extruder or the like, and facilitate a uniform dispersion of carbone fibers into a resin matrix by means of an extruder or the like. SOLUTION: A fiber ball comprises short carbone fibers and a binding agent and has a bulk density of 0.05 to 0.15 g/cm<3> . A method comprises the steps of loading short carbone fibers in to a mixer having a plurality of flat-plate-like blades adapted to rotate on a horizontal shaft as a common rotating shaft and a plurality of plow-like vanes in a substantially horizontally placed cylindrical container, adding a binding agent in the mixer after the flat-plate-like blades and plow-like vanes have been allowed to simultaneously rotate for a predetermined period of time, and allowing the flat-plate-like blades to rotate for a predetermined period of time.
