PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dispersant that manifests high water-reducing properties, has high slump loss properties and reduced air-entraining properties, and causes no coagulation retardation by constituting the dispersant with a specific copolymer containing the adduct of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to an alkenyl alcohol as an essential construction unit. SOLUTION: This dispersant comprises a copolymer that contains (A) a monomer of the formula: R<1> -O-[(C2 H4 O)m /(C3 H6 On ]-R<2> and (B) a monomer of the formula: Z<1> -R<3> -COOM<1> as essential components, preferably at a molar ratio of A/B of 10/90-90/10. In the formula, R<1> is a 2-5 alkenyl; R<2> is H, a 1-4C alkyl; m is 1-14; n is 1-4; m is 1-14; n is 1-4; [(C2 H4 O)m /(C3 H6 O)n ] means the random or block addition; Z<1> is H, -COOM<2> ; M<1-2> mean alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium group, organic amine salt; R<3> is a 2-5C alkenylene. |
