PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent possibility of generating a hot spot from occurring during operation is stopped by a method wherein an air feeding hole is provided in an exhaust gas flow path on the upstream side of a reaction tower and air from this air feeding hole is introduced into the exhaust gas flow path in an apparatus wherein an exhaust gas is made to flow in the reaction tower to remove nitrogen oxide, etc., in the exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A blower 12 is provided on the upstream of a reaction tower 3 and an air feeding hole 13 is provided on the upstream thereof and, ordinarily, an exhaust gas 2 is introduced from a source of its generation into a reaction tower 3 by operating the blower 12. I.e., the exhaust gas 2 is introduced into the reaction tower 3 through a flue 1 and the blower 12 to remove nitrogen oxide, etc., in the exhaust gas 2 by passing the exhaust gas 2 through the reaction tower 3 filled with an adsorbent 4. When the reaction tower 3 is operated for cooling, the blower 12 is used for introducing air. I.e., even after operation of the source of generation is stopped, the blower 12 is continuously operated and the valve 11 of the air feeding hole 13 is opened to introduce open air 14 into the reaction tower 3. The adsorbent 4 is brought into contact with air thereby to prevent a hot spot from being generated during operation is stopped.
|
