<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a shift to a nonsynchronous step of speed certainly in a short time. SOLUTION: If a clutch is disengaged in time of the occurrence of a shift request to a nonsynchronous step of speed, a shift to this nonsynchronous step of speed is started in this state intact, while a rotational speed difference between a countershaft and a main shaft goes down up to a gear's synchromeshable upper limit value, a nonsynchro-shift control means, performing a shift to a nonsynchronous step of speed after putting a transmission 3 back to a neutral, is installed in this automatic transmission, and also it is equipped with a retry shift control means, putting the transmission 3 back to the neutral while the clutch 2 is temporarily connected to it and, after a rotation of the countershaft is raised up, the clutch 2 is disengaged and the shift to the nonsynchronous step of speed is carried out again, if this rotational speed difference between the main shaft and the countershaft goes down to less than the lower limit value to avoid stopping the countershaft rotation, respectively.</p> |
