PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning pad for packing excellent in cushioning capacity and packing workability and capable of being subjected to wide packing objects in various uses. SOLUTION: A cushioning pad 1 is composed of a sheet like thermoplastic resin molded member wherein a bottom surface 111 has two or more recessed parts 11 opposed to an impact object and the contact surface 12 with a packed article 2 is formed around each of the recessed parts 11 and has 2-5 stepped parts 112-1, 112-2 contracted in diameter toward the bottom surface 111 formed to the side walls of the recessed parts 11.
