PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory print surface by incorporating a waveform shape in a section perpendicular to a shaft of a gravure plate cylinder in an inside surface of an ink fountain, thereby disordering flow of ink to a turbulent flow, and dissolving solid content retained in a cell of the cylinder. SOLUTION: A cylinder is covered 50% or more with an ink fountain 6 to shorten time for exposure with the air. Thus, it largely makes use of scarcely bringing about plate clogging of a basic problem of a gravure printing. Thus, solvent having high vapor pressure can be used. This contributes to conservation of energy of a drying process after printing, and largely broadens a selecting range of designing ink composition. At the time of introducing the ink from an ink introducing tube 4 to the fountain 6 and then feeding in the same direction as rotation of a gravure plate cylinder 3, a shape of a longitudinal sectional surface of an inside surface of the fountain 6 is in a waveform shape. Thus, flow of the ink is disordered to a turbulent flow by the end of the waveform shape and a distance L of the plate cylinder from the end of the shape, and solid content of the ink retained at a bottom of the cell is dissolved. |
