PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet printer in which the extent of deaeration is sustained until an ink reaches an ink jet head, a long and wide recording can be carried out using an easily settling ink, ink can be replaced even during recording operation and the pressure being applied to an ink jet head can be stabilized. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer 1 comprises an ink jet head 3 for jetting ink to a recording medium 2, a replaceable ink cartridge 4, an ink passage 5 from the ink cartridge 4 to the ink jet head 3, an enclosed intermediate ink storage section 6 formed of a flexible member in the ink passage 5, and means 7 for supplying ink while pressurizing from the ink cartridge 4 to the ink storage section. The intermediate ink storage section 6 is disposed lower than the ink jet head 3 in order to impart a negative pressure through head. |
