PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polypeptide, comprising EPRG1 polypeptides having a high identity to a specific amino acid sequence and useful for the treatment, diagnosis or the like of anemia, polycythemia, cancer, neutropenia, AIDS, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases or the like. SOLUTION: This new isolated EPRG1 polypeptide is selected from a polypeptide having at least 70% identity, 80% identity, 90% identity or 95% identity to an amino acid sequence represented by the formula over the entire length thereof, a polypeptide containing the amino acid sequence represented by the formula and a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by the formula and is useful for treatment, diagnosis or the like of anemia, polycythemia, cancer, neutropenia, AIDS, drug-induced anemias, myelosuppression, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases or the like. The polypeptide is obtained by providing a polynucleotide by the standard cloning and screening from a cDNA library derived from a human bone marrow and a hematopoietic cell, then integrating the resultant polynucleotide into a vector and expressing the polypeptide in a host cell. |
