An electrocoagulation printing ink consisting essentially of a liquid dispersion contains an electrolytically coagulable polymer, a liquid medium, a soluble electrolyte, a pigment and a dispersing agent, in which the dispersing agent is an alkali metal salt of a naphthalenesulfonic acid-formamide polycondensate. The use of this dispersing agent makes it possible to improve the shelf-life and decrease undesirable colored background formed in the electrocoagulation printed images. <CHEM> in which R is an alkali metal and n is an integer ranging from about 5 to about 12. <IMAGE>
