PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device that is capable of reducing the expansion speed of its air bag at the second state or against an occupant popped out through its cover body while holding the time up to the expansion completion of the air bag shorter. SOLUTION: An air bag device, which is used in a vehicle to protect an occupant through expansion by inflation of its air bag to the occupant, comprises an inflater 12, an air bag main body 16 with gas vents 14 folded up so as to be inflated with the gas produced by the inflater 12, and a cover body 18 that covers the air bag 16 folded up. The air bag 16 is provided with a degassing-amount regulating value 30 that throttles the opening amount of the gas vents 14 during the inflation of the air bag 16. |
