FIELD: drying lumber of hard wood. SUBSTANCE: plant includes vacuum chamber, charging car, sets of thermally-controlled heating elements with devices for supply and discharge of heating medium, cooled panels for condensation of vapors of moisture, temperature control devices for check of temperature of material being dried, as well as heating and cooling media, devices for building up required pressure in chambers and regulating the above-mentioned parameters in the course of drying; plant is also provided with boards to cover pile of material being dried. Method of drying the wood consists in step-by-step heating of wood by means of thermally-controlled heating elements to required temperature, keeping wood at each stage within required length of time, regular treatment of wood with vacuum in the course of drying and discharge of condensate of moisture vapor liberated from wood. provision is made additionally for directional circulation of atmosphere of chamber in its closed volume through pile of wood to cooled panels in the course of drying the wood and keeping it at each stage of heating. EFFECT: accelerated drying process without affecting the quality of dried material. 3 cl, 6 dwg
