PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device to reduce a predicted error in a filling air amount determined by using an output from an intake air flow rate meter. SOLUTION: A processing device 80 predicts a filling air amount mC at a subsequent intake stroke based on a primary differential value du/dte of an air speed determined from an air amount (u) measured by a flowmeter 40 and a filing air amountξ. A controller 90 controls a fuel injection amount and an ignition timing based on a filling air amount mc determined by the processing device 80.
