摘要 An acute angle is formed between the fold line and the beam of light shone onto the work piece surface. A device for measuring the angle between two surfaces (21, 26) of a work piece whilst it is being bent, the two surfaces being joined together along a fold line (27), includes a light source (29) for directing a beam of light (22) against one of the surfaces (21), an optical sensor (31) for detecting the beam, and a processor for calculating the angle based on the rotation of the beam. The area illuminated by the beam forms an acute angle with the unbent work piece and both of the two surfaces are on the top side of the work piece. The illuminated area also forms an acute angle with the plane of the fold line and the light-receiving direction of the sensor, so that the beam of light shining upon the unbent work piece forms an acute angle with the fold line. Independent claims are also included for metal bending machines fitted with this angle measuring device.
