The apparatus includes a patient table (1) whose position can be adjusted in three dimensions relative to a central vertical axis, namely its length, cross and height directions (X, Y, H). The table can also be tilted in the cross-direction (V) along a central horizontal axis parallel to the table length direction. - The x-ray source (10) is located beneath the table on the central vertical axis and includes an electronic detector (14) located above the table on the same central vertical axis. The x-ray source generates at least two x-ray beams that intersect along the central vertical axis. The x-ray source is rotated about an axis centred on the central vertical axis to form a three-dimensional x-ray image of an object located at the x-ray beam intersection points, with the aid of a processing device connected to the detector. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method of collating three-dimensional X-ray images. |
