The visor has a second transparent screen which filters the sunlight, this screen being pivoted at the free edge of the opaque visor section to protect the driver from the dazzling effects of the sun. The visor has a hinged opaque plate (4) arranged below the windscreen (2) of the vehicle. It hinges about a horizontal transverse axis (5) to be able to be folded into position between the eyes of a vehicle occupant and the upper section of the windscreen. It includes a transparent screen (6) which filters the sun's rays and can be positioned, either alone or with the plate, between the eyes of a vehicle occupant and the windscreen. The sun visor has two rotating assemblies. The first rotating assembly (7) is positioned close to the hinge axis of opaque plate, and the second rotating assembly (8) is positioned close to the free edge of the opaque plate.
