The bar holder comprises a cylindrical sleeve (18) located coaxially with the body (2) of the tool and covering the outer surfaces of abrasive bars (12) set in radial slots. The sleeve holds the bars in their slots retract by sliding along the tool when it is inserted into the cylindrical cavity being machined. The movement of the sleeve towards the tip of the tool is limited by a collar (21) inside the end of the sleeve engaging with a shoulder (19) on the body of the tool.
