A method of manufacturing a food product wherein a cereal-based pre-mix (10) including a first sensory component, which includes flavouring and/or colouring compounds, is fed into a hopper (12) and fed from the hopper (12) into an extruder (13), at a controlled rate. A liquid component including a second sensory component (23), which may also include flavouring and/or colouring compounds, is injected into the mix at a location intermediate the length of the extruder, the mix is then extruded to form the food product. A product produced by this method is also claimed. |
