Adaptor for connection of child seat to seat of motor vehicle

The adaptor automatically latches into the traveling position and locked into placed both during and after the release mechanism is changed from the traveling position to the loading position. The adaptor has a release mechanism (19,25) by which a child seat (4) can be placed in a first loading position for climbing in and out of it, and into a second position for traveling. The adaptor (5) automatically latches into the traveling position and is locked there, and during or after the operation of the release mechanism the seat is transferred from the traveling position into the loading position. The adaptor has at least one linear guide upon which the part of the adaptor on the vehicle's seat side can travel in relation to the part on the child's seat in the direction towards the seat back and in the opposite direction.
