Apparatus for organic solid phase synthesis

The apparatus (1) to perform an organic solid phase synthesis has side walls (5) which are impermeable to fluid. It has fittings (6,7) to give a direct release mounting to at least one additional and identical apparatus. The base (3), which is permeable, contains a woven filter material. The openings in the base have a diameter of 35-50 mu m. The base and the side walls of the apparatus are of the same material. The fittings for mounting to additional units are threaded, and they are joined together directly so that the base of one unit forms the cover of the other. When units are locked together, a hollow zone is between the permeable bases to contain the solid phase. The hollow zones are flushed, in sequence, with reaction fluids and solutions, flushing fluids and solutions. A coding is applied to the outer surfaces of the impermeable side walls. The unit can also be fitted with a permeable cover, which can be opened and closed or is durably in place. The unit has a grip. The apparatus contains solid phase particles (2).
