The pressure tight sleeve for an endoscope or other optical probes, arranged so that a tube (1) of glass or another optically permeable material, projects in the inner chamber of a high pressure vessel (2) or a non-transparent vessel. According to a known method, in the event of which, one end of the tube is to be fused, or is sealed both sides at the wall of this vessel. The tube (1) of optically permeable material is fixed in a holder (3) and is sealed, which itself is sealed against the wall of the vessel (2).
