A liquid dispenser has a holding reservoir for the fluid, a spray jet, and a release (3) mechanism which discharges liquid from the cylindrical reservoir (4) through the spray jet (2). The volume of the reservoir (4) is equal to the volume of fluid required for the wetting application in question. The liquid is dispensed by the movement of a piston (6) through the cylinder (4).
