<p>A load bearing truss (10) includes generally parallel first and second chords (12, 14) and a plurality of V-shaped metal webs (16) interconnecting the first and second chords (12, 14). Respective portions (12a, 14a and 12b, 14b) of the first and second chords (12, 14) extend beyond webs (16) at both ends of the truss (10). A first end connector (36) interconnects the extension portions (12a, 14a) at one end of the truss (10) to define a first end section (10a) of the truss (10) and a second end connector (38) interconnects the extension portions (12b, 14b) at an opposite end of the truss (10) to define a second end section (10b) of the truss (10). For added reinforcement, the first end connector (36) extends at least as far inwardly as the respective apex portions (18a) of the outermost webs (16a) which are proximate to the first end section (10a) and the second end connector (38) extends at least as far inwardly as the respective apex portions (18b) of the outermost webs (16b) which are proximate to the second end section (10b). The truss (10) is lengthwise adjustable by trimming a selected one or both of the first and second end sections (10a, 10b).</p> |
